My friend had a heart transplant in 2006 she's doing ok, but she has been telling peopl that she has never had an STD or she would die from her immune system being so low.I don't believe her since my cousin contracted something and she was the last person he had been intimate with.please let me know if she is lying.thanks.

I dont know much about this buttt what does a heart transplant have to do with the immune system, they belong to SEPERATE systems in the body. Plus people dont die from STD's unless they have HPV which causes cancer...

I am heart transplant and have similar concern. It is like we are immuno-suppressant, hence the treatment for STD could interfere with Prograf levels and can lead to rejection. It is cascading effect and then not all anti-biotics can be given, you have to be in hospital for treatment so they can monitor the levels. I am not a Doctor but these are my concerns and I don't kiss my wife.
