hello there I had a medical abortion about 5.5 weeks ago , I had some really heavy and excessive bleeding 1-2 weeks after it. In between the past two weeks it's happened twice that out of nowhere I feel like I peed my pants but in reality it's heavy bleeding dripping down my legs and clots when I get to a bathroom, it usually lasts 45min-1 hr,it's really uncomfortable and it's happened in public places. Other than those two times the past two weeks I've had some brown discharge which I've read it's normal, but should I be concerned about the heavy bleeding?

Hi, user2703$$.
Sorry for the late reply, but I will post it anyway if anyone has the same question.
Heavy bleeding and passing clots after a medical abortion can be normal, but it is important to seek medical attention if the bleeding is excessive or accompanied by severe pain or fever.
During a medical abortion, the medication causes the uterus to contract and expel the pregnancy tissue. This can result in heavy bleeding, which may last for several days or even up to a few weeks.
Passing clots is also a common occurrence during and after a medical abortion, as the uterus sheds the pregnancy tissue. However, if the clots are large (larger than a golf ball) or accompanied by heavy bleeding, it is important to seek medical attention as this may indicate an incomplete abortion or other complications.
If you are experiencing heavy bleeding and passing clots, it is important to use pads rather than tampons, as tampon use can increase the risk of infection. You should also rest as much as possible, drink plenty of fluids, and avoid strenuous activity or heavy lifting.
As you posted this in December, can you tell us your experience?
