Four years ago i had a two stone ovarian cyste removed. They took a picture and i couldnt believe that what was growing inside me considering i was told it was the size of a small orange.I had 72 stitches strait threw my belly button downwards.I had a scan two years ago and was told i had a fatty lump around my belly button area and its no problem..It doesnt cause me any grief as im 18 stone and cant see it or feel it.Last week i showed the doctor it and she told me it was a hernia..a big one but not to worry.Im just a bit concearned why they didnt tell me 2 years ago as i have bieng worried its a cyste. Also before my opporation i never had any leg pain at all.Could this be due to the hernia as i get a bit of pain at the front top of my leg and when i sit down. The doctors checked my leg and says its fine and if i take pain killers it goes.He said mabey my weight contributes to the leg pain..ANGELICA PEACOCK..BEDWORTH

I suspect the "fatty lump" around your belly button is an umbilical hernia. Ovarian cyst removal is major surgery, and could make you more susceptible to abdominal hernia. Your leg pain may indeed be referred pain from the hernia. Umbilical hernia can be easily repaired. I suggest you ask your primary care doctor to refer you to a competent surgeon.
