Hello, guest.
One of the potential complications after tooth extraction is a condition called "dry socket" (alveolar osteitis). This is when the blood clot that normally forms in the socket (where the tooth was extracted from) is dislodged or dissolves before the wound has healed. This can expose the underlying bone and nerves, leading to pain and potential changes in oral sensation or function.
Also, some pain medications or antibiotics that you might have been prescribed following the extraction can lead to dry mouth as a side effect.
Oral Hygiene: After an extraction, maintaining good oral hygiene is essential. However, excessive or aggressive cleaning can potentially disrupt the healing process and irritate the mouth.
Don't forget about Burning Mouth Syndrome, a condition characterized by a burning sensation in the mouth, and its exact cause is often unknown. It can be triggered by various factors, including trauma, hormonal changes, or specific medications.
Ensure you're keeping your lips moisturized with a good lip balm, especially if they're feeling dry and burning.
I think this will do the trick.
