I live in the Midwest; in particular, the area I live in is basically all plains. The result of this is a lot of exposure to wind.
In recent days, I've had some brutal run-ins with the wind. From a really-kill-my-enthusiasm 15 MPH type, to a 30-MPH making-me-feel-like-I'm-running-in-slow motion variety.
Anyway, I run two miles every day (I've gone 50 consecutive days without taking a break!), and I'm trying to shoot for 8 minute miles. It's really hard to track what kind of pace I'm running, though, because it seems like the wind really can throw off my timing. It's hard to tell if I just wasn't running as hard a certain day, or if I was running the exact same pace but just had the wind throw me off.
I realize this is something that requires a lot of variables, but is there any "rule of thumb" for how much wind would slow you down?
Figured it couldn't hurt to ask... thanks.
