Hello, good people. My kid suffers from all kinds of allergies. He usually has allergic rhinitis as a symptom, but he can also have rash from time to time. His pediatrician recommends us to try with allergy shots. I would like to know how often they are need to be given. I would appreciate this piece of info. Thanks.

Hello, there. Allergy shots are usually given in two phases. Those are the buildup phase and the maintenance phase. The buildup phase lasts approximately for three to seven months. Your kid will get one to three shots a week. In this phase, a dose of allergen is being increased gradually with each shot. The maintenance phase last for three to five years. Your kid will receive the shot once a month. Each shot contains the same dose. I hope my reply was helpful. Good luck!
