Do you work on strengthening your core muscles? For many years the attention was on developing your stomach muscles. Magazines show people with ripped stomach muscles.
But just as important are your back muscles. They work together to stabilize your spine.
A strong core gives you power in going up hills, sprinting, and keeping your form when fatigue sets in. To test your core strength, time how long you can hold in the plank position. This will show the combination of your back and abdominal strength. Get going on having a strong core.


I started doing some pillates on my own focusing on my core muscles. I am working out with a ball and am loving it.

Pillates has given me a different perspective. I actually do feel much taller and tighter than ever before.
