Hello, folks. My sister in law has been struggling last night with severe and sharp pain in kidney area. We took her to the hospital. Doctors said it was kidney colic. I would like to know something about this and how to eliminate it. I would appreciate all your effort in answering to my post. Thanks.

Hello, there. Renal colic is only the symptom, not a real cause. It is mostly caused by kidney stones. They are the ones which should be eliminated. Renal colic is very strong pain. Here, NSAID like diclofenac should be given. Lying down on non-affected side is also a must. Putting a bottle with warm water may also help. Smaller stones are being eliminated spontaneously. If they are bigger, then a bigger intervention is needed. I hope this helps. Bye!
