Unfortunately, Obesity is on the increase (Excuse the pun).
I grew up in the post war era of England where one never saw a "fat" person. All people of that era were normal.
Meat was very expensive and I used to cycle down to the shops on a Saturday to fetch ALL the food for a family of five and cycle back home with it all hanging from the handlebars. Milk was delivered daily by the Milkman as was bread.
There would be a joint of meat, usually a shoulder of lamb and this would be cooked up for a roast on Sunday and the left overs, as we would only have two slices of meat each, would be used for at least another three meals, minced or in a hot pot etc.
Groceries were purchased in a grocery shop where you would buy one tin of this, one tin of that, some sliced bacon, small bag of sugar etc.
Today we go in to the Supermarket and are given a trolley and pile the contents into the boot of a car.
The difference is that today we are CONSUMERS, not shoppers.
There was no such thing as fast (drop the s in that word) food and the other thing is that in our road of 100 odd houses there were only 4 cars. Everybody had to walk or use bicycles.
I know this is not what you wanted to hear. You want a quick fix, a pill you can take or a magic diet.
There is only one way to lose weight. Change your way of life. EAT LESS. ***edited by moderator*** ** inappropriate posting**

Life is beautiful out there. There are people to talk to. Buy a dog and take it for three long walks a day.

yes, you are absolutely wright. All she needs to do is consume less and burn more. Eat to live and not live to eat. I know is simple to say but harder to do. Good luck.
