My 7mth old gave a pregnant friend of ours HMPV.....my 7mth old was in ICU with broncillitis as a result is there any risk to my friend's unborn child? Thank you

Since Human metapneumovirus is a respiratory viral pathogen that causes a spectrum of illnesses that range from asymptomatic infection to severe bronchiolitis it would be wise that your friend takes good care of herself. Studies were showing that this virus is common amongst the children but lately it has been discovered among the adults of all ages.
Since your friend is pregnant I think it would be wise to visit her doctor and tell him what has happened just to be sure that everything is fine with her and her baby.
