So I was messing around and felt a little turned on so I stuck a travel tooth brush holder into my vagina. At first, it wouldn't go in but then I forced it and started to bleed a little. I kept it in until I climaxed then when I pulled it out there was quite a lot of blood. I was really nervous and I thought that my hymen broke. The next day (today), I saw something hanging out of my vagina. It's about an inch long and pretty skinny. Pink like the rest of my vagina, and red at the end. I examined it and debated just ripping it off, because if its just my hymen, it would be okay, right? But I touched it and kind if squeezed the end, i couldnt feel it at all. But blood started dripping out the end of it. Now I'm a little more nervous. Is it my hymen? And will it go away eventually (not hang out as much)? I'm only 16, and a virgin. I've been fingered a few times but not sexually active. Please help me.

hun you could have a septate hymen its very rare i have one you need to go to the doctors as it could get inected but all in all it is pretty hmless you can choose to keep it or get it cut off at the doctors but please for your own safety dont cut it off or pull it out yourself you could end up pulling out something else in the process im going to get mine cut off tomrrow im only 15 and had to tell my parents about it.dont be nervous about anything because theres nothing wrong with you just try not to touch it because the bacteria from your fingers can cause it get inffected but there really is no need to be nrevous your going to be fine

So this may sound weird but just few days before my periods.. My hymen just hangs out.. I don't know what happened.. I never had sex.. I do pleasure myself.. After reading few posts I understand that it's normal.. I am a sporty person and do a lot of trekking and all so it may have happened that my hymen broke.. But I also notice that sometimes when it's hanging I can see blood when I wipe myself.. I am even afraid to masturbate anymore because I feel like may be it's because of hormones or something.. I had UTI recently.. Please help

The hymen is not a membrane that gets broken or 'destroyed' necessarily by sex or any of the other activities he listed. Let's get this straight: a hymen is not a 'seal' over the vagina, it is a collar of tissue that sits around the opening of the vagina, like a scrunchie. Through puberty the hymen becomes thickened and elastic and painless, in order to allow passage into and out of the vagina. There may be occasions when the hymen can be disrupted, that is to say, there can be a tear, which usually heals very quickly and effectively, leaving no trace. The vast majority of the time, doctors cannot look at a hymen and tell anyone whether a penis or other object has passed into the vagina, nor can they 'restore' your virginity. Virginity is a societal construct and has nothing to do with your anatomical or physiological make-up.
