If you're 5'6, your normal weight should be around 125 to 135 pounds. You are not even considered medically obese. the definition of medical obesity is 30 pounds or more over weight. Then you have mild, moderate and severe classification. No it is not true that the more you weigh that faster it will come off. On the contrary. I suggest you try a low carb diet which will help you to lose quickly especially in the first two weeks. You could lose 15 pounds. This gives you a good jumpstart because you'll only need to lose about10 to 15 pounds which you can do slowly. Try to find out how many carbs you can take in per day and not gain weight by gradually introducting carbs back into your diet. This works well with me and I use it periodically especially after holidays. Make sure you exercise as well.
