Hi,
I saw alot of posts that were helpful to me. However, I have only read a couple that had to do with pregnant women. I am currently on Zolft 150 mg. daily. I am considering getting pregnant (unfortunately not that easy, my finance and I am going to a fertility dr.). Anyway, the Fertility Dr. said I definatly have to get off of the Zoft - it can be gradual or they will not work with me. However, my psychiatrist said that studies have shown that being on Zoloft vs. taking no meds with the added depression has similiar effects on the fetus.
If anyone, can tell me about there experience I would be soooo grateful! I'm worried b/c I ran out of Zoloft once and didn't take it for 2 days until I could get ahold of the dr. and I felt "out of sorts", extremely anxious and shaky, and had suicidal thoughts.
Thanks, Pam

Hi Pam,
I never took Zoloft but i did see one of those quick infomercial's the other day that talked about Zoloft/pregnancy, you know the one's with Ambulance chasing wanna be Lawyer's that try to enlist folk's that may have had adverse reaction's to a certain type of medication? Anyway...this particular commercial spoke of Zoloft and pregnancy. He said that there could be an issue with it. He mentioned birth defect's in the newborn could be caused by this drug. Key word's....COULD BE.
I also have a few friend's that take Zoloft, as well as my sister in law. (x sister in law) She and her hubby wanted a baby and after 11 year's of marraige, decided to try, but she to was taking Zoloft. Her doctor gradually decreased her dosage and she finally got pregnant. Her doctor put her on something else bc she did not adjust well to not taking the Zoloft. Maybe he can put you on something else that will not have an effect on the pregnancy. I know of a few woman who are taking some kinds of antidepressants while pregnant, so there must be something out there that will be ok to take.
Good luck
