I had the surgery one week ago today and the pain is still unbearable as it was the first day. I wish I would have read the stories beforehand because I would have never done this! I'm a 35 yr old female with 2 children and this pain is 100 times more unbearable as childbirth. I've followed doctors instructions and nothing seems to help the pain. After going through 50 painkillers this week with 800 ibuprofen, I have to make a trip 30 min away tomorrow pick up another script. 5 days post op I had my first bm. My roommate heard me screaming and crying and my whole body was covered in sweat from trying to push it out. They tell you not to push but you can't help it due to the pain meds causing u to be constipated. No amount of stool softeners have helped.  I've taken about 100 sitzs baths which is the only thing that provides a few min of relief. My suggestion is to have a dedicated person to help you with your children as well as making sure you have balanced meals to eat. Unfortunately I've only been offered noodles, cereal and tacos since everyone is so busy in their own lives. To top everything off, my son passed a stomach virus to my daughter and I so I went from constipation to projectile vomit and diarrhea, back to constipation. My bottom is so swollen it looks like nothing has been removed. I have been trying to call my doctor all week with no luck of reaching her. Finally a nurse said she will get a doctor to sign off on more pain meds but I have to make it until tomorrow..she also told me to try Miralax so I just took that and I'm praying for that to soften up anything in me so I can get it out. Nothing prepared me for the pain this is causing and I'm a pretty tough girl! The doctor told me I might have to have 2 surgeries because if she removed everything I would be too constricted and it would cause ripping. I swear it doesn't look like she removed anything at all! I would never go through this again unless I could be in acomma for 2 weeks! Sorry to scare anyone but I wish I would have been told this before. Good look and I hope to update soon!
