i am 4 weeks post op from bunion and hammertoe surgery.  I was sent home with a boot.  2 weeks after surgery the stitches were removed.  Today was what I was calling graduation day.  The pin removed and no more boot.  I was very anxious about the pin removal for no reason at all.  I didn’t even know when he took it out.  I was told to wear tight shoes that lace up which I did.  After about 5 hours of work sitting and standing the pain began.  I took 2 prescription pain pills.  Never touched the pain at all.  As the evening progressed so did the pain.  I elevated and iced all day and night.  Took another 2 pain killers. Those did give me some relief .  I then went to bed with ice pack and elevation.  The pain is unbearable!! Again another 2 pain killers.  After surgery I told friends this was the worst surgery of my life (2 c-sections and a hysterectomy).  I have a very high pain tolerance but right now after taking the last 2 pain pills 45 minutes ago I cannot take this pain much longer.  I am in tears from pain and I don’t see it leaving any time soon.  If I had to do this surgery over again I would not!!! The absolute worst pain ever!!!!!!
