I had tubal almost 25 years ago and this month my period is late, can my period just stop?

I am 50 and had a light period last month and now have had it at all this month yet.  I had a tubal god over 25 years ago after my second child and because I have had no period yet this month im freeked out.  I do have sexual contact but hope that I wouldn't be able to get pregnant,  can my period just stop
