I had unprotected sex with my gf, she's scared of getting pregnant and am scared too cos we aint ready to have kids yet. She warned me that if she gets pregnant but she must give birth to the baby so am really scared. Normally, ovulation starts about 8days of last menstrual flow and last for 6days. In most women ovulation normally occurs between days 11 to 16 of her cycle. Day 1 is when her period starts. It does not last for 6 days, ovulation is when the egg is released - that's it. The egg is viable, can be fertilized, for about 48 hours after ovulation.
Your sperm can remain viable up to about 5 days in her vagina. So, having sex from about 5 days before until 2 days after her ovulation date there is an increased risk of pregnancy. There is always the possibility of pregnancy from any sexual contact.
Your options are that either she uses birth control or you do. If you've heard about the "pull-out" method, it is NOT a form of birth control. Precum may contain sperm too.
Use protection before any sexual contact.
