Post op day 8 from TDH. I haven't had the best experience as some others have reported. I was doing pretty well the first couple of days post op besides having a lot of pressure and feeling like I needed to have a BM without relief. Then the next couple of days proved themselves to be extremely painful to the point of having to call my Dr. At that time he added Valium because he thought that I was having spasms and that's why I wasn't getting any relief from the Tylenol 3 every 6hrs and Tramadol every 4 which by this time I was taking religiously. I've also been taking the recommended MiraLax daily. At this point I haven't been able to eat anything besides a few crackers over the last several days. Everything I try(small bites of course) hits my stomach like a ton of bricks. I've only been able to keep down liquids including a protein shake here and there. I've lost a total of 11lbs since surgery 11/4/15. I haven't really pushed the eating issues to much because passing gas is a painful task for me. I've been in more pain today than what I have bee during the whole process. It's a burning relentless pain that is not eased with the lidocaine cream I was given. I've tried witch hazel, sitz bathes, cold compress, different creams that only make it worse. I am positive that nothing is infected, and I'm not having and other adverse effects besides the pain and the stomach issues. Overall, I am glad that I had the procedure done because of the outside appearance in itself which may sound vain but I feel it's more about my self esteem than anything else. Any suggestions as far as the pain issue goes I'm open. Oh, and btw my surgeon is on of the best I'm couldn't be more pleased with him and his team, Beaumont, Tx. I'll try and keep up posting my progress.
