thank you for letting me know that I'm not alone in this. I've been bleeding for 3 to 4 months I don't know what my problem is but its starting to take effect on my brain I feel drained and sleepy all the time I can't afford to go to the hospital I'm not overweight but I am very tall its not perfuse bleeding but I live in Florida and I'm in a bathing suit most of my days it's kind of embarrassing also if I have one glass of wine I'm already hammered so I try not to drink because it seems that when I drinkI bleed even more. I also have a copper-t iuv. And a fiancee who is very well endowed so I wonder if that may have something to do with the cause of my bleeding. Pushing against a peice of metal in my uterus seems like a cause for bleeding to me.

Okay. I look at these replies and it makes me really scared because y'all are all over the age of 20 and I'm 16.. My periods last anywhere from 3-8 months long. Literally. Nonstop. Bleeding all day, everyday.. Its been this way since I was about 11 or 12. I started my period when I was 7 (yeah.. Really early bloomer). I have told my mom but she won't do anything about it. I don't want to go to an OBGYN because 1. My family doesn't have that much money and 2. I am scared of someone looking and/or touching down there (bad past... :/ ). But do any of you have anything that might help that doesn't really cost a lot that I could get a a drug store without a prescription? I know its a long shot and I might be being stupid but please? Anything will help.

I am 22 ( 23 on Oct 4) and ibhave had my period since Jun 19, 2015. I normally have irregular periods and was hospitalized in 2007 for losing too much blood. I can go months with a heavy, HEAVY period and then up to a year without anything. You may be thinking this is normal for me since ice been experiencing it almost all of my murire life but doctors still have no answer for me!!! Theeres really nothing anyone can do to stop the bleeding and they don't try. It a always treated as "over reacting".
So if anyone knows a medication a doctor has given them that a worked or anything I'd be so gratious!!!!!

Hey, i just wanted to say i missed my peroid for 8 months straight.(sometimes when id have sex id start to bleed). When i finally got my peroid it lasted 2 week. Then stoped so now every few days it stops, then ill spot for a few days. Then it will stop for a few days then flow like a river for a few days. Its very unstable. And so annoying. I live with my boyfriend. And it makes my sex life difficult. Thank god he very caring and underatanding. I went to the doctors and they told me i "MIGHT" have psos but since im 21 i should worry about. So now im in the process if picking a new obgyn because her response pissed me off. You not alone honey get you check out and dont take BS for answer you take care of you health. Id hope to have kids in the near future. Im worried they issue might stop me.

you're honestly not alone, I am the same age with the same problem, but I think for most people it seems to be mainly due to stress, being over weight or under weight and different changes. Being younger can also have a serious effect because you're still adapting to it, I wouldn't worry the first thing to do would be to try birth control

don't ever tell someone not to get a certain type of birth control unless the birth control itself has been recalled. Different birth control brands and methods work differently with everyone you just have to keep trying till you fine the one! ;)
