For the last week I have had some slight numbness in my left foot and left hand. I have a herniated disc at C5/6 in my neck so I think that is what maybe causing it but I'm not sure. I did have some pain in my neck and left shoulder at the onset of the numbness. What do you think the numbness could be coming from?

A herniated disc at the C5-6 level can cause C6 nerve root impingement to cause numbness on your hands. A herniated disc at the L4-5 or L5-S1 level can result in numbness on your feet. But numbness that occurs only on one side may indicate a cerebrovascular accident (CVA) or mini-stroke. This can eventually turn into a major stroke if left untreated. You will need to see your doctor as soon as possible. In the meantime, take an aspirin pill or two just in case. The aspirin will thin your blood to help prevent a stroke.
