Hi steadyhealth community. I have something to ask. I went to medical clinic because of my Pre - employment requirements. Then i undergo chest xray. It stated that "(Correlated with the prior chest PA study dated 5-9-2015. Apicolordotic view shows a round density in the left lung apex. IMPRESSION : LEFT LUNG FINDING IS SUGGESTIVE OF AN INFECTIOUS/INFLAMMATORY VS A NEOPLASTIC PROCESS. RECOMMEND CORRELATION WITH CLINICAL AND LABORATORY FINDINGS, DIRECT COMPARISON WITH PRIOR STUDIES IF AVAILABLE, AND FOLLOW-UP AS INDICATED.

Hi Mark,
Normal lung tissue appears clear. A density indicates a that there is a possible infection, scar tissue present, or fluid is collecting. A "round density" could also indicate a lung nodule. These are very common and MOST are benign.
There is also the possibility that it is cancerous.
Your doctor would like to follow up with prior x-rays if available. Other tests will also need to be done, possibly including a sputum analysis or a biopsy.
Talk to your pulmonologist or doctor. They know your history and have seen the images. They should be able to give you a clearer understanding of what they know at this point and how they plan to progress.
Good luck. Please keep us posted.

I wouldn't bother with another x-ray. It should not show anything different. You also do not want to expose yourself to any more radiation than is necessary (from the x-ray).
Wait for the results of the sputum test. Your doctors are doing exactly as they should.
Good luck.
