It is too early to test.
It's also very early for any symptoms. I'd tend to think that you're more likely to have a UTI at this point. They can also cause frequent urination, mood swings, and cramps.
UTI's are common in women, especially after intercourse.
If it continues, see your doctor.

Yes, it is a possibility.
The best time is when your period is due. Testing early is likely to give a "false negative." Even when your due it might read false. By 7-10 days after your due date you should have a reliable result. Just make sure to use your first morning urine, it is the most concentrated so more likely to read positive.
Those new "test a week before you're due" kits aren't reliable.
Hope it helps.

Hi Emma,
It still sounds more like a urinary tract infection. It can account for your symptoms, especially needing to go more.
Your period is due shortly? Testing early isn't reliable and will likely give the negative result. Are you regular? When was your last period? It's important for you to keep track of it.
Judging by the dates it's been almost 3 weeks since you had sex. It should be getting close to your period.
Give it at most another week, then retest.
