I have had this problem for 3-5 years, I eat and then i feel hungry or i feel this insane pressure in my stomach ( i do the two finger technique to puke...but its because it hurts). I belch i can always taste the food i ate, no matter how little or great i ate.. chewed or not, spicy or not it doesnt matter. i was scoped and put on omeprazole 20mg for an erosion in my esophogus, but ive always thought it was more like the sphynchter in my stomach isnt working because it feels like sh*t comes up and out and causes the pain.

anyway i have just recently 6 months gone on crazy people meds, lithium for bipolar and it also reduced the need to puke. is this mental or physical?. i still puke all the time but it feels like it helped. anyway im off lithium now and the puking increased. I honestly think its half mental half physical. but the symptoms are recognized as pressure and irritation. what could the actual disfunction be... is it the sphyncter or the GI wall?

I'm 17, and this has been going on for 3 months now. ive lost 25 pounds and every time i eat it triggers me to vomit. i went to the hospital and on my second visit they kept me there for a week. they said i have ovarion cysts and its a symptom of it, but i dont understand why its this severe. i was reffered to a gastro but he said i was perfectly fine. i know im not okay and im tired of going to the hospital and getting medicine in my iv to make me stop throwing up because all it does is make me sleep and wish i wasnt alive and going through this. i just wish someone could figure out whats going on :-(

Hey All... I am very glad that I found this thread. I have been dealing with the same problems since April - throwing up at least once a day, some days three or four. There are a lot of times that I force myself to throw up just so that I dont have to feel nauseous. As many of you wrote, I too feel fine after I throw up and I suffer from intense abdominal pain and dizziness. I have also experiences internal bleeding from throwing up so much. There seems to be no pattern to being sick - just whenever I eat. My doctors were convinced I was pregnant too when it first started but tests have shown otherwise. I have had ultrasounds, MRI's, and Upper GI series, been on medication and nothing helps. I was even sent to a neutologist to see if it is linked to a head injury i had a few years back. My doctor has finally decided that this is something that I will 'grow out of'. I am 20.

Words of advice:
- Heat usually helps with the stomach pain.
- I find that if i run of complete some form of moderately intense exercise then cool down and then eat I am less likely to get nauseous.
- Drink lots of fluids with electrolytes to stay hydrated - water doesnt contain electrolytes and will not replenish what your body is losing during the day.
- Doctors dont know everything - I have had better luck with Nurse Practitioners - they seem to really want to get to the bottom of my problems and are not worried about spending money on tests or calling more people when they dont know the answer... Doctors are not legally obligated to cure you and they only make money when you are sick
- Dont settle for 'Its nothing' , 'your doing it to youself' , 'you will grow out of it' , 'we cannot fix it' - its pretty obvious that if you feel sick after you eat something is wrong
- If your younger, like myself, and you dont take a parent with you, dont let the doctors push you around - because they will
- Talk to your family or friends - build a support system, you cannot go through this alone - you need someone that knows what you are going through that you can call when things get rough

I had this problem for many years. It was not being sick but regurgitation. I went to see THE specialist at Groote Schuur hospital and it even had him flumoxed. My diet then consisted of mainly of porridge and over the intervening years it gradually got better. I still cannot eat certain things such as pears, oranges, tomatoes, strawberries, any type of fatty meat as it will start the regurgitation off again.

Make certain that what you do put in your mouth is thoroughly masticated into a pulp before you attempt to swallow it. I still find on occasions I can feel food coming up into my oesophagus if I lie on my right hand side. I quickly roll over onto the other side and swallow and the problem is usually solved.

It is not a pleasant problem to have. I think I had it for approximately 4 years.

I had the exactly same problem for about 15 days this summer, went to see my family doctor because it came to the point where i couldn't even drink a sip of tea without being nauseous and since I had no insurance at the time they simply sent me home telling me to go to the ER (because they suspected it was appendicitis) if anything gets worse - at the time I thought, well what could be worse...until a day later I woke up with the worst imaginable pain in my abdomen. I was rushed to the operating room and few hours later when I woke up from anesthesia I found 15 inch incision across my abdomen. It was a burst stomach ulcer that bleed for days, but no one paid attention.

I quoted esprit because that is how I have to live now, even after everything is gone and all that remained is a chronic gastritis diagnosis. Those certain things esprit mentioned are have high acid content that irritate stomach mucosa, so I must tell you all - if you have the opportunity go and do all the tests and exams necessary to find out the state of your GI system because that is not a normal way to live and if you discover the problem in time it is completely treatable with medication.

Hi I just wanted to let everyone know that my 16 yearold daughter was doing alot of these same things. She lost 20lbs, nauseated, would get full after a little bit to eat and vomiting in the mornings. She went through alot of test that showed everything was ok. Then they did a hida scan on her gallbladder and that showed it was non functional. She never had pain in her side because she did not have gall stones. She had it taken out March 17 and is feeling great. I hope this will help out. I hate to hear young people going through what my daughter went through. :-)
