Hi there! How would you describe the warts you found?
Warts found on genitals are caused by a virus called Human Papilloma Virus, which is sexually transmitted. Human Papilloma Virus also causes “normal” warts that usually invade hands and feet but it is another strain of the virus. There are around 60 strains of this virus.
In females, they are not visible and usually are situated inside vagina while men usually get them on shaft, sometimes foreskin and even scrotums. They can be also found in rectum. Where exactly are yours situated? Have you had unprotected sex lately? General warts can actually be passed just from rubbing.
Have you been diagnosed with warts or are you only assuming? You could have mistaken them for other lumps that are usually considered as normal penis variants.
Also, there is a skin condition called 'molluscum contagiosum' that produces similar lumps and it is also viral infection.
