I'm not seeing much activity on this website, though it says there are tens of thousands of users. Trying to get some information on a surgery I have to have soon, but all the posts pertaining to it are from 5 years or more ago. Does any one know how to find more recent posts or discussions that are taking place now? Was really looking forward to some advice, and to know that there are others out there that have or are going through the same thing. I read some of the old posts before I signed up, thinking that maybe only members could see current ones, but it looks like there aren't any live discussions going, is any one using this site? peoples questions seem to sit unanswered for months, new people aren't being greeted by long time members like it says they will be. some one please help!!!???

If you post your question you have a better chance of getting an answer. There's no guarantee because we are all just people like yourself, not professionals.

I spend a few hours a day reading posts since my last visit. If I see one I don't know anything about, I don't answer it.

So what is your question?

Oh I understand that, and I didn't post a question because I went to the specific area that I needed advice from, the musculoskeletal forum, in the spinal and spinal nerve forum. Which is where I saw the posts were from 2005 up to 2009 or 10, and was discouraged that maybe that forum was not being used very often, but didn't want to just randomly post, just to be directed to the idle forum. Does that make sense? Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. I just wanted to talk to others that have had or are facing the spinal surgery that i am, see what their outcome or feelings are about it. Some of the old posts were scary to say the least, so was hoping for a current post & person to relate to. thanks again for your time njoynlife, really like this site, look forward to being part of the community, just need to find my way around.. :-)

Hi lilacflower, how long have you been a member? has anyone tried to help you or direct you on where to go to get answers you need? Have you left posts that no one has replied to?

Never mind I was just being a jerk, I am of course a newbie. I have answers and people trying to help now.

There are a lot of old threads here and surely many that have had no activity in years.

What I do is watch for new posts as they come in and current replies. I think most of the other regulars do that too. So if you post something to one of those old threads we will surely see it.

People seem to hang around here for a while then leave. I've been here since '09 making me one of the old timers now. I have more time to loiter, being a retired old fart.

About the only medical thing I am comfortable answering to is heart bypass surgery as I had that many years ago. So I can relate my own experience with that.

Aside from that I answer a lot of questions from young guys (and girls) who seem to have scant sex-ed. I thought I grew up in the dark ages for sex information but there are plenty of young people today who seem to have had no information passed on to them. They are very sressed over things they notice about their bodies that are very normal but no one has told them anything.
