it makes me so much happier knowing that all of you are suffering just as much as me lol , just over a week ago i fell asleep on the sofa , the next morning i woke up and could hardly move , i had pain in the tailbone area and after feeling about abit i could notice a small lump deep under the skin , just to one side at the top of my cracken. this felt to me like the tip of my tailbone and due to it being to one side thought ive somehow bent my tail bone , so i searched ' bent coccyx ' and found a few things on the internet and thought this must be whats happened . after putting on a brave face for a couple days it had started to swell so i bit the bullet and went to see some one , the doctor had a poke around and spread my pert derriere and informed me that it was some kind of' ringfection' , i didnt believe him at all ! this felt like bone and had the pain to match, but still he proscribed me flucloxacilin < which i believe is an antibiotic > so ive been taking them and some pain killers , but the swelling has continued to get bigger and know looking at the internet and feeling about i would self diagnose it as a pilonidal cyst which im hoping it aint , so .. pardon the pun but the' bottom line ' is the drugs dont work , well in my opinion the antibiotics didnt do anything , and after reading some posts on here i think weve probably all got these cysts and are dismissing them as other things as its easier than going to get cut , im probably going to go to a doctors today to get checked out again as its serously effecting my ability to move its not so bad if i sit down on the right chair , but standing up again is a struggle , also its been forcing me to sleep on my sides, and now ive done that for a week im noticing slight pain in my hips so i think its time for me to deal with the matter , the only thing is as u ALL must know , when u go to a doctors or hospital ur greeted with roller coaster que times and and its a long wait , which wouldnt be so bad if u could sit and stand freely , also i must add im also of a similar age to most of you guys im 24 , anyways , i feel your pain boys and if i could cure u all i would , but i cant so we will all have to accept that weve all got ' jeep disease 'and have to have a man dressed in white drain our bum boils, .... for any one that wonders , it feels like a big gnat /mozzy / insect bite , the ones that swell up big the deep under the skin ones that end up looking like uve got a strawberry growing on on lol , anyways people if they aint cysts then there probably some kind of government RFID chip inplants and thinking about it im not sure whats more likely

Well everyone is saying that one needs to take out that fluid from the area. But I've heard that by taking out the fluid from the tailbone area, it paralyzes the person. Is it really safe to take out the fluid ? Also I would like to know if there is any alternative to the surgery..

I was about 20 years old, and in the Army. My indicator was 11B1P. Which meant I was a Paratrooper i.e. Airborne Infantry.. Well, on about my15th jump, we were jumping from a small plane onto an airfield that held all of our family members having a big battalion cook out. Very cool.I was the first jumper out of the first plane, but I was the last one to come back. When I jumpd, a big breeze took me to the trees, and when I fell threw them, the branches I was falling threw, kept my legs positioned in front of me, to where the first part of my body that hit, was at my tail bone. My chute was stuck in the tree, I couldn't get it down, and I had the biggest pain radiating from my tailbone. I almost had to crawl back to where my company was eating at. They were suprised to see me, and told me that they had guys out looking for me. Well, I went straight to my P.A. (physicians assistant) and told him what happened, and how I felt, but he had the typical response we always get when we say we're hurt. He asked me if I was a paratrooper, or a girl?? He said that I hit my sciatic nerve, and to walk it off. After about a week 1/2 to 2 weeks, it finally got good enough to walk. But almost bi-yearly the pain would come back, along with swelling right at the top of my butt, like right at the beggining of my crack. I had put up with it for a long time, until last year, I got the pain out of nowhere. It came, after I had a good week of sitting down, and reading a book, (terry Goodkind). But the pain was the worst it had ever been. So I went to the E.R., and a Dr. seen me, and came back with simple surgery tools. He had the nurse have me sitting on the bed, with my ass in the air, cheeks spread eagle, and took like an hour to come back. But when he did, he made a small opening, about a half inch, and told me that I had a cyst, and had to drain the fluids. But, my wife was standing there watching, and she said that there was no fluid that came out. But before he had made the cut, he had injected me with local antistetic. Well, after he cut me, he filled the opening with a good amount of gauze. He gave me Rx of percocet 10s, and anti-biotics. About a day later it still hurt, and I had my wife look at it, and she took a pic of it, and I seen a huge cyst looking bump, that was filled with puss. And next to it, you could see a small hump right where he shot me with local antistetic. It seemed like it did not disipate, but stayed right where he put it. I had my wife pop the cyst, and out came nasty smelling rancid puss. But whats funny, is that the majority of it, came from where the small hump was. She had to coax it out, by pushing it towards the opening, but it came out. The worst part of it, was taking the gauze strip out. It hurt to just let alone touch it, but I had to pull out what seemed to feel like 5 feet of gauze, which was really like 4-5 inches. But, after that had healed, it has come back to haunte me again and again. I wish they would tell me whats reallyu going on. It's eaither my tail bone from the injury, or an ongoing cyst that keeps sprouting up. i don't know, just thought I'd share with you guys. Sorry if there was too much detail in the gross parts. And 1 more thing. I wanted to make an observation. There was 1 or 2 other people that said that their symptoms came on after sitting down for a while. Also alot of people saying that it had started happening to them in their early 20s. Wierd huh?? Thats what seems to happen to me, when the symptoms start to raise it's head with me.

I have this same problem. I have had this on and off since I was 8 years old when I busted my ass on an icy sidewalk. However, my tailbone is not broken at all. I have had xrays and scans. Nothing wrong with the bone that they can see. Yet I still on average about 3 or so times a year get excruciating tailbone pain, swelling and occasional bruising. Why? I have no f*****g idea. Doctors don't seem to know or care. When I was younger they told my mom that I just wanted attention. I am currently typing this laying on my stomach on a makeshift bed (coffee table and couch cushions) at my desktop computer because I cannot sit down. I cannot bend, sit, lay on my back, sometimes I have trouble walking and standing also hurts. This is excruciating. It's like having my tailbone simultaniously stabbed and set on fire and not being able to make it stop. (for me, anyways).

EVERYBODY! Just pop it with a needle or the tip of your scissor, release the liquid (puss) and you'd be good as ever!
Well let me tell you my story. I developed this horribly cyst almost 3 years and 3 months back. A few days earlier at that time I sat in the public bus for 1 hour in a position which was eserring pressure on bottom of my tailbone/top of the buttocks. I started to feel the pain and in a couple of days the pain was unbearable. I could hardly move, let alone walking or lying straight. I went to the doctor and that id**t had no idea what it was so he gave me anti biotics and a pain killer. The next day the pain grew even more (after the effect of pain killer vanished) but luckily the lump popped out itself and all the puss eventually drained out. All the pain was gone! Magic.
Now that I'm 24, 5 days earlier I once again sat in the same position as before (I was very careful after the previous incident and never put any pressure on the bottom of my tailbone) but you cannot be careful all the time so once again I developed the same pain. 2 days earlier the pain become unbearable and even touching the lump released a sharp, excruciating pain throughout the body. Couldn't walk, couldn't sit, couldn't lie. I tell you what I have seen people in worst conditions but I don't think there are much worse conditions than developing this God damn cyst where you don't have relief in anyway. So first I thought about popping it but then I thought it would pop itself like last time. But having gone through everyone's experiences here and how the popped with a needle, I managed to get enough courage to do it myself. I knew it would hurt like **** but I was in a severe pain anyway so why not just do it as well. So I put a mirror, somehow managed to get hand around the top of my butt and popped the big lump with the tip of the sharp scissor. Surprisingly it didn't hurt that much (as I ways expecting) maybe because I was already in such an excruciating pain from 2-3 days already. Anyways the moment I popped it, thick greenish puss came out of it. I kept squeezing it from the sides and even more liquid just kept on coming out of it. NOTE do NOT smell that puss because not only is it disgusting but you won't smell anything worse than that. I almost puked twice when I tried to smell my finger. Also, keep on cleaning the area with water. I instantly got a lot of relief from the pain as most of the liquid came out of it. Now I just feel a little bit of pain as there's just a little bit of swelling leff and I'm hoping it will be gone by the morning. I'm definitely sleeping tonight after two sleepless nights.
So if you have the same problem just pop it and get rid of the puss. The relief is magical. Thanks to Almighty Allah
