I am a 25 year old man in good health. Since last month my urinary frequency started to increase. Before, I was urinating every 5 hours but know every 2 hours. Also, I noticed a tender, irritated feeling in my urethra. I should probably visit my doctor, but before that I would like to know more about the causes of irritation?

Urethra is the tube that empties urine from the bladder and in man it extends the full length of a penis. Very often, irritated urethra or urethritis is a result of sexually transmitted diseases.
