Yes I am up to it I didn't realize it until I took it one time and got a horrible headache so bad I ended up in the ER. Dextromethorphan also interacts with a lot of medications people should be very careful about taking it I am surprised it's in almost all cold medication combination products.

I am as well allergic to Dm. I have a different reaction though. Whenever I take it, I start having loads of trouble breathing, and it feels like my lungs are getting smaller and smaller. Also I start to major hallucinate. I tried to go to sleep after I took it and my pillow felt hard as rock, and I was seeing things on my ceiling. This caused a panic attack. Never again

I had a reaction to Dextromatorphan as well. It made my blood pressure soar to 199 over 111 which is stroke level. I was almost hospitalized but they managed to get it down in the doctors office. It was frightening.

I was checking on the Internet for cough medicines without dextromethorphan and I only found Coricidin HBP. The HBP stands for High Blood Pressure. Also Zicam Cold Remedy Citrus Rapid Melts does not contain DM.

I have a bad reaction I get nauseous and then I can't use my legs and get convulsions... that was the first time I took NyQuil but I tried other cold medicines with it and the same thing happens but it not as severe it almost feels like a panic attack but it's not.

I am allergic to DM with the same effects. Was hospitalized twice before they figured it out. Now I list it with all my health care providers. Problem is, it is in every cold medication: day quill, night quill robotussin, etc. Doesn't leave much relief for a cold.
