I have to admit that I never though that simple cold could get complicated this much. First, it is not passing, even after 10 days. And now I also have to deal with bleeding gums. A friend suggested that some meds might cause that. Could aspirin be blamed for my bleeding gums and is that something dangerous?

See, if your gums are bleeding when you brush them and if you suspect that the bleeding is caused by the aspirin you take, you shouldn't stop taking the aspirin. Why? Because your doctor prescribed the aspirin for the reason. So, the only person who has a right to decide can you stop taking your aspirin or not is your doctor.
Meanwhile, you should seek for some bleeding gums treatment because there are so many of them.
Anyway, you should make an appointment at your dentist, just to see what this is all about. Maybe the main reason for your bleeding gums is something totally different.

I have also heard that some medications might be blamed for bleeding gums problem. And aspirin belongs to that group. I think that aspirin alone is not that dangerous, but combined with some other medications, might cause some complications. So a good idea would be to go to a doctor, at least check that cold, it might be something a bit more serious.

I was just browsing online and came across this page. Just to share some information with you, I was having bleeding gums, changed tooth paste, mouth wash, etc. I even thought I am lacking Vit K. It turned out that I realized that I had stopped using Excedrin migraine tablets and my bleeding stopped! I suspect that the aspirin in the Excedrin contributed to that. I am no longer using the migraine pills. BTW, aspirin is a blood thinner.
