Hello, my son has a kidney tumor; he is only 7 years old. This tumor is known as Wilms tumor. He has been taking actinomycin-D, and now he has to take duocarmycin too. Will that drug help him? Is it related to actinomycin-d? I am so concerned for him; I just don’t know what will happen to him.

Both of these medications are anti cancer antibiotics. They work by implementing themselves in DNA and prevent multiplying of cancer cells. Duocarmycin has a very similar effect as actinomycin. It is possible it was added in the therapy because of the possible side effects of the actinomycin. It should help him. I hope your kid will get out of this situation.
