You have to know one thing, sperm out of its original habitat can not live long, and in shower especially. All the shampoo will kill any sperm that gets in contact with. But protection is not just against pregnancy, it also prevent you from getting any sexual transmitted diseases and infections. I highly suggest that you use a condom because there is always a change that something can go wrong. Better safe than sorry. Right?
How old are you? Is she taking any birth control pills? If not, have you considered this as an option?
I don’t’ agree with bbfeet about the Atlantic Ocean, salty water is not a good place for spermatozoids. They wouldn’t last very long. :)

The fact is that shower sex is much safer then sex in the bed because of the water. However in my opinion the condom has more chances to slip and then you might be in greater risk. Also you should always use condom no matter where you have sex. I never had sex in the shower so it is little hard to know all the problems that might occur but you have to be careful for condom not to slip down from penis. Also you need to know that water is not a lubricant and it may even make things uncomfortable with the condom. I hope this helped you in any way.
