My friend was recently diagnosed with gilllian barre syndrome. She is still in intensive care at the hospital. She asked for massage and the said it is ok to massage her legs.
Can anyone tell when massage is best for this serious condition? what type of massage is best if at all. SHe is having physiontherapy twice a day as well.

While massage does nothing to reduce the progress of the disease, in the healing process, manual movement of limbs to maintain flexibility and muscle strength can help the patient to recover their ranges and speed of motion quickly.

My view is it can't hurt and can only do good. Plus, it feels nice as well!
