Is Parkinson's hereditary? I am asking this because my husband’s father suffers from Parkinson's and now I found out that his grand father was too. I am worried about him. Does it mean that my husband will have Parkinson's too?

There is no conclusive proof that Parkinson's is hereditary, however it seems that People with siblings or parents who developed Parkinson's at a younger age have a higher risk of developing it themselves. It is not proof but it suggests it could be passed on in some families. For example: if they both come into contact with other factors such as a certain kind of food, or a particular chemical or virus. I don’t mean to scare you but according to them relatives of people who were older when they developed the disease have the same average risk for Parkinson's as the rest of the population.
