I am feeling congestion in my nose. I suppose it is associated with my pollen allergy. My nose is full I cant breathe. I am using phenylpropanolamine to deal with this congestion and allergy. Also I use it as a form of diet because I have heard that it decrease appetite. But I have heard that this medication can be dangerous and cause strokes. Is this true?

I see that you are very well informed. It is good. I would like that there are more people like you who gather information before drug usage. You are right. It can decrease appetite and it can cause hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding into the brain or surrounding tissue). FDA recommends that, if you can, avoid this medicine and any other that contains phenylproranolamine.
