Hello, folks. I have been diagnosed with chronic leukocyte leukemia. My doctor recommended me cyclophosphamide. I have been using it for a while, but it has terrible side effects. I am noxious all the time, I have diarrhea all the time. I would like to know if there is an alternative med for this since I cannot stand those side effects anymore.

Hi, there. Cyclophosphamide is familiar for its side effects. There are some other medications, but I think that all cytotoxic drugs have similar side effects more or less. I have heard that rituximab is recommended as alternative in the treatment of vasculitis. Cellcept is recommended as alternative in the treatment of lupus nephritis. I am not sure if those drugs are recommended for your leukemia. You should really discuss this with your specialist. Cytotoxic drugs are not something you should joke with.
