Hello. Malignant hyperthermia is a serious condition. It is inherited disease. The treatment that is now being used is dantrolene. Dantrolene is a muscle relaxant that blocks ryanodine receptors. Blocking these receptors prevents releasing of calcium. This medication decreased mortality from 80% during the 60's to 10%. Other supportive treatments can also be expected. You can discuss about details with your friend's doctor. Bye!
