I take Adderall for ADHD and as a mood stabilizer. I do not experience any of the "typical" side effects of Adderall - including weight loss. In fact when when I started it I was SO HUNGRY ALL THE TIME and I didn't have enough food to eat to satisfy it because I'm extremely poor. (As many of us with these types of problems are because we can't hold down a stable job.) I was miserable & gained weight in the beginning. After a while it started to even out and now I weigh about the same as I did before I started it.
If you are taking it only to lose weight then you probably will be more happy, excitable, etc. Upon starting Adderall it made me tired and depressed and blank. I f**king hated it. (This too has evened out for the most part.)
I deal with these side effects while I am at work so I can function - be on time, have a normal conversation, finish the tasks I have to perform at work.
When I finish work I CANNOT WAIT for the Adderall to wear off so I can be my "normal" self again. I am not creative or fun to be around when I am on my Adderall. I am dull and mousey and average.
The only personal benefit I see to the medication when I am not at work is that it helps control my self-injury urges which come seemingly at random. When I do not take it I have severe mood swings and experience an internal rage/tension that can only be relieved by letting blood. Most people do not understand this, even others with ADHD. I take the Adderall because I'm sick of going to the emergency room for stitches & I am sick of the rage, the tension, and the self-hate. Thanks to Adderall I have not cut in over 3 and a half years.
Outside of work the pluses for other people when I am on it are:
- I will be more likely to be on time to a friend's/family member's social event.
- I am less likely to embarrass them by talking too loud, too fast, too much, saying the wrong thing by accident.
- I am less likely to have a sudden mood swing and be an angry/rageful/crying wreck to deal with.
So if you do decide to take the Adderall for weightloss, please remember this drug is not a "party." People who abuse Adderall and other stimulants make it really painful for people like us who actually need them. This is a very controlled drug (thankfully) and sometimes I fear that if all these people are using them for off-label use and abusing them that one day they may pull them from the market altogether, in which case a lot of us who really need them to function would be completely screwed. I've done the revolving door of medications trying to solve my problems and stimulants are the only thing that works. For our sake and yours, please be responsible. Thank you.

i came across this whiling i was google searching about teeth grinding, tongue biting and i have a white bump on the side of my tongue which isnt painful but really annoying that i tend to constantly be chewing on. my jaw is begining to hurt, more my bottom teeth though.
it isnt actually from Adderall, ive never had adderall before nor tried speed like drugs other than one pill wen i went culbbing but didnt give me as much side effects like this Capsule im taking. its seems to be that adderall also has amphetamines (speed) which i didnt know. im taking a weight loss tablet brought from china which actually has all the side effects of taking speed alone. i have weird sleep patterns, dry mouth especially VERY VERY thirsty, insomnia, loss of appetite (never thought it culd be possible with me cos of how much i love my food), i could go a whole day without food, feeling energetic even though u havent eaten or had proper sleep, outbursts of hyperactive behaviour, blurry eyes, and the annoying mouth games with the tongue & lip licking etc. and worst of all my heart races out of out the blue which kind of scares me giving me anxiety..
if you want to lose weight, try Xiyouji Qingzhi Capsule. Google it & it will tell you about it & will amaze u with how much weught ppl have lost. even though i now know why i feel the way i do, i am not gonna stop taking the tablets until i reach my weight goal. Yes we know its bad for you and can bring future risks, but its only for temporary time. its not that i dont want to eat. i do but my stomach & mouth wont let me do so. and sometimes i even forget to eat at work cos i work on a computer all day. ive never not eating this much in my life, i used to try starving myself anole on no medication and it never worked.. but with amphetamines you wont even be tempted to eat maccas even if your friends are stuffing their face infront of you.
also even though u get weird sleep patterns to the poiint where you'll fall asleep at 5am and naturally wake up 2 hrs later feeling ultimately refreshed, as if ud slept 12 hrs -.- its very weird to me. im 18 yrs old & have already have had speed.
the capsules i take are maroon & yellow half/half. i opened one up today & found myself taking brown powder with crystal forms through it. i couldnt beleieve it, ive become obsessed searching about amphetamines. im actually scared to see wat will happen in the long run.
best way to lose weight is str8 out healthy food & exericse. (kickboxing recommended)

My freshman year I was getting straight F's and couldn't focus on anything. It felt like my thoughts were covered in vasaline. I used to cry sometimes because of the struggle I had with retaining information other students found simple. I felt like I was stupid. The summer before my sophomore year I was diagnosed with ADD. Adderall was a wonder drug for me. It sharped my mind to it's full extent. My sophomore year I got straight A's. I graduated a year later, an entire year ahead of my class. I just finished my first semseter of college, and maid the Deans list. It only makes you loose weight if you have ADD, if you don't, it probably won't have much effect. And if it does, it will have too much and the effects could be hazardous. Don't use it unless you need it. It does help with weight loss, but only because people with ADD/ADHD are so out of focus that they use food to cope. Without the need of that coping mechanism it's much easier to focus on positive things in your life. This was just my experience, and it's not a good idea unless you NEED it.

I have no idea when this was written, but what you are describing here is bi-polar. Im sorry to say that you were misdiagnosed. Believe me, i speak from experience. I hope after this, you consider a mood stabilizer, not a stimulant.
