Eating ice, although not doing any harm to your body as it's water, supposedly helps anemic people get oxygen to their often deprived brain so is definately a sign of your anemia which will itself be doing harm to your body if you don't deal with your lack of red blood cells and iron.

So you, if you haven't already should probably be dealing with that if you have been eating ice for 5 years.

The damage the ice itself it will do however is to your teeth, as they are not really designed for the wear and tear caused by crunching on that much ice!  So again, you should be looking at the root problem of dealing/managing your anemia my friend!
