I am going to post my story day by day on this forum. so here we go, day one.

My surgery was scheduled for 8:45 AM so i was required to be there at 7:15 AM. When I got there I waited for maybe 25 minutes till they took me back. I went back there and they took my blood preassure, pulse, respiratory rate and temperature. All which were normal. Then I got into my gown and i had a pair of socks, a pair of slippers and these calf massagers. Once i was dressed I was taken to a bed and they put my IV in my hand ( I am not sure if they put any numbing on it or not... it hurt for about a minute). Finally they brought my mom back there to sit with me till I was ready to go back. The anasthesiologist came out and discussed my procedure and the anasthesia they would be using, I asked alot of questions about naseau medicine, perscriptions, afterwords, so that I would be prepared. What I never knew was they suck the blood and junk out of your stomach while your under! I thought that was interesting, finally she asked if I wanted something to relax me and I said yes. She brought me versed and my mom asked how long it was going to take to kick in and she said "you will see" and maybe 5 seconds later everything started to spin, that feeling went away after a minute or so and I was just relaxed ( I was actually falling asleep sitting there). Finally around 9:20 they brought me back to the surgery room and moved me to a surgery bed. They put an oxegyn mask on and she started pumping in the anesthesia and I don't remember taking more then two breaths. I woke up at 10:30 AM in the recovery room where they were asking me my pain scale. I said 7 out of 10. They gave me some morphine and I pretty much fell asleep instantly. I woke up again at like 11:10 to them asking me my pain then, which was still at a 5-6. They gave me some more morphine and I fell asleep again. I finally woke up for good around 11:45 AM, I was still extremely dizzy because of the anesthesia but I was drinking tons of water so that seemed to please the nurses. At around 12:00 AM they finally gave me liquid percocet, which was a god send. My pain went from a 6 to a 2 in around 30 minutes. At that point they let me get dressed and start getting ready to go home. Then I went into the second recovery room where my mom was allowed to come and see me. They gave us going home directions (take your medicine, make sure your urinating, eat, and stay hydrated. ) I walked in my front door at 12:45. I went to bed and have not been able to sleep more than 45 minutes straight since I came home. I got tylonal with codeine from my doctor and I took that once the percocet wore off but it could not touch the pain. Even after one and one half hours of taking it my pain was still at a 8 out of 10. So I called the doctor and he called me in some percocet, the liquid would not be in for a day or two since it was special order so I got the pills which i crushed and put them in applesauce. did not taste to bad. Good news is my throat feels good! At this point pain is a 3-4 out of 10. I'll take it! be looking for day two tomorrow!

ok so I am on day two. I woke up feeling worse then yesterday, my throat felt like it was going to split open when i drank water this morning, but once i got my throat moist it felt much better. I only needed to take my pain meds once every 5 to 6 hours instead of every 4. I have eaten mashed potatoes and Popsicles and Jello all day long. Overall i feel pretty good today. No fever, I have not gotten sick and I am taking consistent naps. I have heard the third day of it is the worst so we will see.
