My son got his tonsils out.

Hopefully things will improve as each day goes on. Make sure you follow what ever diet the ENT recommended to not injure the surgery site. When I had my tonsils taken out at age 36, the ENT told me to stick with liquids and soft food. She told me I would probably lose 10 pounds, but I didn't because I found that Krispy cream doughnuts slid down my throat with out too much distress. My surgery was done with caudery and a saline drip to cool off the tissue as it was being burned/sliced off. She did not use a scalpel so maybe that's why I was able to eat what I did. The main thing with me was making sure I had the liquid narcotic ready to use at night by my nightstand and during the day. I made sure I took it before the pain would start again round the clock. I had to take the pain med for 2 weeks straight until one day I noticed I could go longer and longer without too much pain and then I just gradually stopped. Even after all the suffering, I am glad I had them taken out. The last straw for me was the last tonsil infection with pus balls as tonsils.The ENT said she had never seen a case as bad as mine. My fever at the time was 104 F. I had just had it with the tonsils. I'm glad I had them taken out.

Thanks for your reply it was very usefull ,my son is getting better by the day he was moaning today which is a good sign ha ha .Now the hosp told him to eat rough stuff ilke toast they said it helps with the healing .
