day of operation: was supposed to get the operation at 11:45, they picked me up at about 1pm. So no food since 6pm the day before.

I woke up at around 5pm. do not remember much.

Night 1.: I almost swallowed my uvula, or I was trying to. I thought it was a mucus or something else on my throat so i was trying to spit it out. Since it was getting very disgusting, I decided to ring the bell... Nurse came, looked, left...I knew there was something wrong. The doctor came in looked, went out, came back with a cortisone syringe, and then it went through my veins. 5 minutes a slight shaking and hot blushes in the face... then dark....

Day 1: I woke up expecting the worst...but the pain was not there, I was actually hungry. They served me sliced bread with butter, tea, and something else. No pain

The lunch also was good no pain, and I managed to eat quite a lot.

Day 2: same as day 1, I actually managed to eat some kind of pee pasta salad... I believe they messed up as I thing I was not supposed to eat that, but hey I was hungry, no pain, so what the heck, i took the fork, and I started to dig in. Liquid pain killer 3 times a day. also antibiotics for 10 days

Day 3: I decided to finally look at my throat: Very disgusting, I almost fainted. The white mucoussy substance had taken over my throat and uvula.
I was mainly drinking tea, and water as liquid. This was the first day of pain. Maybe it was because I looked at the ground zero, but I think it is because the medication from the operation finally ran out form my body.

Day 4: rang the bell twice at night because of pain. Pain was mainly in the back of the throat. Increasing pain.

Day 5: Finally went home. I was sick of hospital food. One thing is that I have been getting bad reaction to icecreams a other sweet things after the operation. So I have been avoiding it. Today fist day I decided to drink gatorade. Niceeeee.. I suggest to stock up on gatorade.

Day 6: pain is there although I think I am getting better. During the past 7 days, I pooped only 2. I guess constipation may be an issue. The tongue and back of the throat started to burn. When i wake up after a nap or in the morning the morning is almost unbearable.

Day 7: went to a follow up visit. to the "specialist" to check up and to load up on pain killers. "The specialist" decided to give me iboprufen...I took one, the pain went magically away... so I guess the "specialist" was right....so I take another one at 5pm.... I eat... wash my mouth. (very important get a mouth wash to wash your mouth every time after you eat or drink juicy things) Then surprise.....do you know that ironish taste... yes like blood, ... yes well it was blood, I was tasting blood, my own blood....so I panicked, gott nervous almost fainted...so I took a paper cup and start spitting on it. The only thing I got was a line of blood in the saliva. But I was still scared. Freaked out more likely. so I google Iboprufen+tonsillectomy and bingo!!!. Do not take aspirin or Iboprufen after a tonsillectomy.......it increases the chance of bleeding...

Day 8: Went back to " the specialist" (she was lucky cause I am not in the condition to yell, so I demanded another painkiller) she gave me diclofenac.... after taking it twice today, I can surely say that this medicine may kill me, but for sure not the pain.

The pain is there, but on Day 7 I discovered `chewing gum, which helps a lot when you throat becomes very dry.(I find that drinking water makes my throat dryer) get the sugarless one.

For the adults is here. What about sex? Well.. Day 5 twice etc. But I was always worried that a string of blood would come out of my mouth at anytime. I would suggest to wait. Actually the doctor said to not to do any "sports" for 2 weeks.

I am in pain, and I am bored. I am also worried. I hope nothing else bad happens. I have to go back to work next monday, and I hope I will be ready for it.

good luck to all of you. I hope that I will enjoy the benefits of this torture after all this is over.

I have lost about 4 kilos. (8.4 pounds) this was one of the added values to the operation :-) . I was hoping for more, but the hunger is strong with me.

May the hunger be with you!
