I have the same problem right now. Its on the right side of my body just under the clavical bone. It's been there for just under a year now. I don't think it has grown in size and there has been absolutely no pain. I was pregnant when I noticed it...I thought maybe my chest bones were just a bit uneven but I can't help but feel like there is something there after reading these posts. If its not cancerous what could it be? Obviously I just need to go to a doctor but I'm hoping someone can put my paranoia at ease.

I had a very similar thing happen to me. I was feeling a little discomfort in my upper right chest and when I reached up I noticed a very large bone hard mass about 2 inches under my collar bone. I went online and started reading and in about two hours I had myself convinced that it was my lymph node that was swollen up and that it was a certain indicator of a cancer run rampant. I stayed up all night crying. I'm a mother of two and I was in a panic that I was getting ready to leave them motherless. The next day I RUSHED to the doctor and she told me that I had actually dislocated my rib and that "mass" I was feeling was my bone where it is attached to the cartilage. Then I remembered a week or so ago bending over the bathtub and feeling a pain in that area where I had been putting pressure. So apparently it is not that hard to do. The point of my story is that when I was looking things up the ONLY possible cause of this "lump" was the worst possible thing it could be. So if you find a lump like this, go to the doctor right away. You will feel so much better once you get an answer. But don't assume that it is cancer. I wasted two days in a dead panic over nothing.

There are a lot of people with this condition.  I too have a mass under my left clavicle that I know was not there a month ago.  I believe mine is a result of a bad muscle pull while weight lifting.  I often massage myself under the collar bone (neck muscles get tight when lifting) so I know it wasn't there a month ago.  Then I pulled a muscle in my neck badly and felt this lump soon thereafter.  It has swollen a little more since then and is slightly sore to the touch.  I, like most of you, thought lymph cancer, but I believe (hope) it is muscle trauma.  I'm heading to Cedars Sinai in LA to get it looked at to be sure.  I'll post my findings.

I get this lump every once in awhile myself. I causes minor headaches, and there's no pain when I push on it. What I found out all on my own is this: I've laid on my bed on my back, and felt the back of my neck near my spine in the general area of the lump. I found that I actually had a vertebral subluxation, which is a verebral bone out of alignment. I use to go to a chiropractor who taught me about these, and I fix them myself by adjusting my neck. Basically what the lump is is the bone out of alignment causing the muscles, and tendons to tighten up causing the lump. The vertebra will go back in alignment by itself over time or with an adjustment, and the lump will go down. This entire problem occurs if you sleep wrong at night causing a kink in y our neck. I have a lump right now, and it doesn't hurt, and my neck is very stiff causing the lump to remain until I can adjust my neck to push the vertebra back into place. Most doctors don't know this because they are not chiropractors. They try to look for a more serious cause, but 99% of the time it is your own body going through a misalignment of the spine, and will usually fix itself over time.

I hope this has helped some of you out there, and I've told others about this when they've had the lump, and they did what I just told you, and the lumps went away. I'm no doctor, but have gone to chiropractors for over 10 years, and have learned a few things about the human body.

omg I looked this up because the email above describes my bump exactly. I do have a cat and love her dearly so when I hold onto her too long she may try to leave and scratch lightly or nibble on my finger as play. So now I am not as scared but i do need to get it checked out. Thank you
