We are a concerned right now, my son who is 12, found a very tender lump spot by his left collar bone near his lymph node, we took him to the the docter and he said there we two lumps not one and he has ordered blood work and chest xray and ultra sound, Ii Am sick with worry wondering what it is, and concerned that it may be cancer.

The thing is that this can be caused by a cancer but I think that chances are very low for this to happen. You have to understand that your son is very young and there is a chance that this can be a simple infection in his body and the lymph nodes are just reacting to the infection. The good thing is that you are doing his blood work so you will have the accurate diagnosis in no time. Has your son had any injuries in that area? I know that sometimes when there is a wound you can get an infection and your lymph nodes will swell immediately. How long has this lump been present on his body?
