I must say that heart issues are not something I expected in my 57th year of life. Well, I guess I am paying the price for the “healthy” life I have been leading all this time. I did stop smoking several years ago, but it is not enough, I guess. Anyway, I have to deal with peripheral arterial disease now. Can it be treated with laser atherectomy?

Well, you should now that operation is not something that is done right away when it comes to peripheral arterial disease. You have stopped smoking, that is a good thing, now you can continue with a good life, try with a healthy diets, some light exercises etc. If this does not work, medications have to be applied. And only if the meds are not successful, operation will be considered as a solution.
