I’ve got to say, the scary reviews just aren’t accurate. I’ve never had a child, I’m 23, but if the LEEP procedure is worse, then sign me up for child birth. The LEEP hurts a little, but it’s worse if you get yourself worked up. I told the doctor not to tell me what she was doing, put my headphone in squeeled while holding my moms hand and I made it through fine. My doctor even told me it took longer than she would have liked, and it still only felt like 10 minutes. If anything, the constant cramps I’m experiencing now after are the worst. But they’re no worse than period cramps. And, I had quite a bit of bleeding right after but she cauterized the wounds well and it dissipated very fast. DO NOT PANIC. All it will do is make your muscles sore from being tense the whole time (seriously, ow lol). I tried to laugh through the procedure while crying, Best I could, poking jokes at the nurses that I would like to opt out of having a vagina, and eventually it was over. Hang in there. This sh*t sucks. But the LEEP is the last step. The light is at the end of the tunnel!! GO GET IT GIRLS

I had the Leep procedure today and the numbing shots hurt like HELL! I have a history of kidney stones...so I know pain! And this hurt! I dug my nails into my legs and said 'Mother of God!' to my gyno. We both laughed but it hurt SO bad. The LEEP procedure itself I didn't even feel and it lasted just a few seconds. So, no, it's not painless...but some pain is worth it and this IS. Now I'm home and I was burning inside but 2 ibuprofen really has helped. At any rate, it's over and I hope for the best.

Just had my procedure today. For me, the shots hurt like HELL! And I've had several kidney stones...one was so big it had to be surgically removed in the hospital. The LEEP itself I didn't feel b/c of those shots. So...thank God for the shots...but those shots were nearly unbearable. Now I'm home...I burn inside but ibuprofen is helping.

I agree with this post.
I had the LEEP procedure several years ago under general anesthetic.
It was SO PAINFUL afterward!
The only way I can explain it is that it felt as though I had been gang raped over & over again by multiple men.
I had that feeling for 10 straight days!
Yes…10 days.
The discharge was disgusting.
This is not a pleasant experience by any stretch of the imagination.

Thank you for this post. Seriously so helpful! Silly question but when you did return to having sex, is everything normal?
