I started taking lexapro and was on it for two weeks and it started working with fantastic results....im in college, and i drank a good amount two nights in a row.....the second night i woke up twice in the middle of the night to throw up, and woke up early the following morning with the worst hangover i have ever had.....the throwing up and the hangover were both very uncharastic of me, and i believe are related to the Lexapro....following this incident, the medicine had stopped working....my doctor raised my dosage from 10mg to 20mg, and it is a week and a half after the incident, with no results still....i just wake up every morning hoping to be myself again, and it never happens, it is the most frustrating thing....does anyone know anything about this problem or what has happened to me?....also, i have stopped drinking altogether in the meantime, and while on meds will only drink moderately, if at all from now on....please help, any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated....thank you

The label on Lexapro clearly says not to drink alcohol while using, so I would lay off of it for the time being. I'm not sure why the meds stopped working, but it very well could've been the large consumation of alcohol, since it warns against drinking at all while taking Lexapro.

hey there. It was my 21st bday and i had been on lexapro for 6 months and i had been starting to get off when i drank WAY too much. i passed out at around 3am, after only 2 hours of drinking. The following day i couldnt keep anything down, and my nervous system was way off. its the second day and im still a little shaky, but with hangovers the best medicine is time. As for your situation, being on an medication like lexapro, two weeks is the minimum where u can start to see results. They reason it may have stopped working for you, is that it never worked in the first place, but it was a placebo effect and you thought you were getting better because you were on a medication. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THOUGH, IS TO TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR. no one on the internet can help you cause their not your physician. talking to him will definitely give you a peace of mind too. hope my story helped and good luck
