My partner is 52 and recently had a heart attack with very little warning of anything being wrong. He had a 1.5cm blockage of the main artery that feeds the left side of his heart and we have been told that the other major arteries on the left hand side of his heart are also diseased. The blockage was opened up with a stent. My partner continues to smoke anywhere up to a packet of cigarettes a day (25) and has a minimum of atleast 3 mid strenght beers every day. Can anyone advise how they expect that these continued behaviours will effect his life expectancy... I am worried I will need to prepare for the worst if he doesnt change his ways very soon.
