Obviously it's common in women, men don't have vaginas

I'm pretty sure the "gooey" discharge
just means ovulation time. I get the same discharge...it literally looks like thick snot, sometimes it's elongated and sometimes it's a ball. It's clear in color and sometimes has streeks of white in it. It's nothing to worry about.

But is it normal to have the clear mucus discharge after every wipe every single day? Surely you cant ovulate every day.
Its been happening to me every day since January.

I have just come online to look this up as this very thing has happened to me just now. I too am awaiting my first period since coming off the pill (last pill taken about a month ago). At first I was very alarmed but this has put my mind at ease. Another thing we have to put up with!

I'm 18, and still a virgin, I've been having this same problem for about 2 years now. I get it about 2 weeks before I start my period (a week after I get off my period). I get it monthly and never really worried about it. Seems pretty normal to me.

I am 25, and have experienced a clear and thick discharge for years when I go the bathroom. I noticed when I eat a lot of bread, I get a serious glob of discharge. I stopped eating bread and starchy foods, and the glob goes away. Try changing around your diet by removing bread for a week or two, and see if you have the same result.

Since everyone keeps saying, "This happened to me too," as if this is a brand new discovery, here's what I've learned over the passed decade.

If you're a very fertile woman, it's more common to have a slight difference in your CM. I'm one of those women who notices and feels every change in my reproductive system, including the exact moment my ovary releases an egg. For me, that release is either one very sharp pain, or a series of small sharp pains. It's enough for me to say "ow!" and take a moment to breathe.

During "fertile week," my discharge is often egg white stretchy, and when I need to use the little girl's room, there's an actual string of discharge. Usually it's clear. Sometimes it's a bit more yellow, and on many "baby" forums, women with difficulty getting pregnant heavily envy this. It isn't the same as thick, non-fertile discharge, especially given the timing. Now, if it's a bit brown or red, but still translucent, it's one of 3 things: old blood from your period, minor ruptured follicle trauma (can easily happen, not bad), or ovulation bleeding. For me, it's often the last, since my ovulation is very prominent. The old blood issue usually happens within 3 days of my period ending.

Bottom line: if you chart your menstrual cycle and keep it updated, none of this will be surprising to you. There's no shame in keeping yourself informed about your own body. In fact, it's very good, that way you know if something's going wrong. I highly suggest using WomansLog. It's very accurate, though you have to keep it updated for it to stay accurate. You can even track CM consistency, all your menses symptoms, etc.

Off topic note: to keep yourself healthy, especially with extra discharge, I suggest a bidet or manual bidet. I don't care what people say about urine not being toxic, it still has bacteria, and can leave remnants behind even with a wipe. That + your discharge's bacteria -- stay safe. Grab a large disposable cup, mild soap, and pat dry well. Doctors actually find toilet paper alone to be bad hygiene, but they also realize it's up to your discretion. Wash up, the butt too.

She said she experiences this discharge on a daily basis. Not just for a few days when ovulation is occurring.

I’m 14 not sexually active and haven’t had my period yet, but when I pee or poop I see goop hanging from my vagina and I don’t know if that’s good or bad.
