Hi everyone. I've been having an enlarged uvula touching my tongue for like 7 weeks now and it has just made me miserable because of the constant feeling of something stuck. My ENT doesn't know what may have caused it. At first I thought the throat symptoms were due to laryngopharyngeal reflux (and was being treated for it) but my ENT doesnt think so because I just had that one symptom. He did a procedure on me to try to retract that uvula called an injection snoreplasty which was about 10 days ago. It hasnt gotten any better but he said it will initially feel worse but improvement should occur in 2-3 weeks and may keep improving up to 6 weeks. Whats bothersome now is the constant feeling of mild nausea I'm getting, which might be due to the uvula resting on the tongue or something with my stomach--I honestly cant tell, but this symptom is new I think. There also has been no vomiting. I really hope this gets better soon...I dont remember what it feels like to be normal and carefree.
Has anyone had success with treating this? Maybe I might need a partial uvulectomy...

I'm 71 and about two years ago (after three head colds) was told I had a long Uvula by my GP. I have never vomited in my life. I was diagnosed with mild Sleep Apnoea. What was happening to me was I was waking up in the night feeling I was drowning. This mainly happened when get a cold and my nose drips down the back of my throat. The sleep Apnoea (c**p) machine blows air up my nose all night and this has stopped my problem.

I've been dealing with this as well. One thing that has worked for me is to gargle a little tea of black walnut husk (ground). The walnut is very astringent so it tightens the flesh. I believe I found the recipe in a book by herbalist Matthew Wood. Also my sleep has been improved by sleeping on my side or stomach (with a pillow under my chest to ease my neck). Good luck everyone, I hope this helps.

I woke up with the same issue this morning. My uvula is so long that I can exhale strongly and push the uvula to lay on my tongue. It even sounds crazy as I write this. If it starts to hang, it makes me gag. I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked in the mirror this morning

When I woke up in the morning, I saw my uvula elongated. Is it a serious problem? How can I overcome this problem?
