and i don't want my boyfriend to think it's weird.
i don't really want to go see a gyno either, because i'll have to tell my mom about it and it's kinda awkward..and she's not very easy to talk to about that kinda stuff.
can i go to a gynocologist by myself? i'm 16 btw

I have the same thing, i'm 19 and have never had sex but I think it may be the hymen but not fully broken, mine personally might be from doing horse riding since I was 6. But i'm not 100% so you might want to see your GP about it.

You should find the closest Planned Parenthood Clinic. They don't just help you with planning unexpected babies but they can do pap's as well, which it sounds like might really help each of you. For the 16 yr old yes even you can go to P.P.H and they won't turn you away in fact I think they'll help you get the info you need, just PLEASE go check them out.

Hi girls! Just dropping by to reassure you that you are perfectly normal!

This is NOT your hymen. The hymen is a crescent-shaped, nerveless mucus membrane, not skin, and most girls have broken theirs LONG before hitting puberty just through normal activities like biking or wiping without even realizing it. Its just a genetic thing, like some people's earlobes don't attach, some girls have "Vaginal Loops" Its nothing to worry about, and will in no way effect your sex life in any other way than your boyfriend may feel an impulse to stick a pencil through it.

I once got my tampon stuck on my first try, after about 5 minuets If painfully trying to pull it out I noticed this loop around one side off the tampon and thought it had pulled out my insides. It normal for some girls to have it and for some not to. Just try not to get a tampon stuck aha

I had the same thing when I was about 17-18 years old. I saw an OB-GYN and had it removed when I was about 20. About 13 years ago now. I was put to sleep and it was a short procedure. It didn’t hurt after during the recovery. I’m glad I did it because I didn’t have to worry about tampons or it being an issue with intimacy. Talk to a gynecologist. They may have updated how they remove “labial loops” or have other options for your specific needs. Hope this helps.

There’s variations in hymen anatomy. One is called a septate hymen. Google it. Hymenoplasty is the term for the surgery. Looks like it can be done now just by numbing the area and you don’t need to be put to sleep. Easy recovery and low risk procedure.

I have one of these, I'm in my early 20's but I haven't had sex yet. I know you said it wouldn't cause any issues with sex but are you sure? When I do have sex, and I will, I don't want it to be a problem. Like, Is it possible your partner could accidentally tear it?
Should you have it removed? I don't want to remove it or get surgery unless I have to.
Why do I have this? Genetics? How many women have this? Is there a proper name for it?
WHY would my boyfriend have the desire to stick a pencil through it?!

Few I’m glad I’m not the only one! That is exactly how I noticed it and I was really worried so I came on here and realised I’m not the only one

I have the same thing and haven’t been to get it removed yet but I discovered it because when having sex my boyfriend said he felt as though he was hitting a wall and it did cause discomfort for me

I have the loop too but I’ve had sex. My two last boyfriends never even noticed it when they fingered me. Don’t worry about it getting in the way. I promise

I found out about it because I got my tampon stuck in it and had to cut the string to pull both out I was so scared and I told my doctor because I'm bout to get on birth control and the said they look when they put in my IUD
